The deep-ground and spiral groove offers absolute smoothness and high cutting performance. In particular, non-breaking chips are transported away cleanly as with a twist drill bit. This reduces the formation of built up edges and cold welds on cutting edges. The taper facilitates retraction in drilled-through sheet metal.
