Stainless-steel pipe connectors with fire protection properties for use in cast pipe systems in accordance with DIN 19522/EN 877
- In the event of a fire, the intumescent material has a foaming effect, which closes the main pipe
- End-to-end EPDM seal
- Protection against mechanical influences
- Can also be mounted in branch sections
The general fastening guidelines from the pipe manufacturers must also be observed during installation.
The BS-V fire protection connector for use in system G3.1 serves as pipe insulation for floor-to-floor sealing of cast-iron pipes (also mixed installation) in house drainage systems.
- Installation on a straight pipe: cast iron pipe DN50 to DN150 (variant 1: Z-19.53-2711)
- Installation on a branch section: up to DN100 (variant 2: Z-19.53-2712)
- Plastic pipes to be connected, without restriction/manufacturer's reference
- Install the BS-V fire protection connector in the cast pipe branch like a "normal" connector
- 1. Install the fire protection connector up to the stop collar of the seal on the end of the pipe that has been cut at a right angle
- 2. Push the end of the pipe or fitting into the connection until it stops
- 3. Tighten the hexagon screws alternately using a socket wrench, hand ratchet or cordless screwdriver until the two clamping heads collide; proceed with block mounting. Torque 10-20 Nm
Once the heads collide, do not tighten them further. - 4. Installing the BS ceiling strip: Place the ceiling strip above the ceiling and around the cast pipes and connectors, ensuring that there is a ≥ 20 mm overhang. Fasten using aluminium adhesive tape. Additional insulation above the ceiling
- 5. Seal the remaining gap with fire protection cement
