Over time, silicone joints around the edge of the bathtub lose their elasticity and form "hairline cracks". The wall and tile adhesive absorb the moisture, causing mould and water damage.
The bath joint tape is adhered and integrated between the tub edge and the wall. If the silicone joint tears, the bath joint tape prevents moisture from penetrating into the building fabric.
