PMMA stands for polymethyl methacrylate. For many users, PMMA is better known as acrylic glass or by the brand name Plexiglas. PMMA filament is resistant to weathering and demonstrates a very high level of rigidity, making it ideal for demanding applications. Its high level of scratch resistance and extremely high impact strength are two further mechanical properties that make PMMA a very practical material. What's more, the filament does not easily become discoloured when exposed to sunlight.
